There are two steps to get you up and running as quickly as possible.
1. Schedule your 30-minute call with a Tax Professional
Premium plan clients will receive an email with a unique link to schedule a one-time 30-minute call with one of our Tax Professionals. (This 30-minute call is optional. Additional calls are possible; however, they may incur additional fees).
2. Prepare for your Tax Professional call
For the best experience, we recommend providing as much information as possible for your Tax Professional to review before the call.
Providing your Tax Professional with the right information upfront can speed up the filing process, bringing you closer to finishing your taxes!
Essential Information
The following is the minimum information your Tax Professional will need to prepare for your call:
- Log in to your account.
- Complete the first two sections: “Introduction” and “You & Your Family”.
- Select any US Tax Forms you have from the options provided.
- Select any Worldwide Income you received during the tax year.
- Finally, don’t forget to upload all of your relevant tax documents.
- Provide any relevant US tax documents, including local tax returns, prior-year US tax returns, and any other supporting materials.
- While prior-year returns aren’t required, they are highly beneficial in helping our tax professionals ensure accuracy and efficiency. If you used MyExpatTaxes last year, we already have your previous year’s tax return, so there’s no need to upload it again.
- Not sure what’s relevant? Don’t worry—upload whatever documents you have, and we’ll review them together during your 30-minute consultation.
For self-employed clients and those with rental income:
Please do not upload multiple receipts, or income and expense spreadsheets.
The Premium Plan is only available if your financial records and bookkeeping are up-to-date and organized in a manner usable for your US tax preparation.

We can help you calculate total income, major expenses, and foreign taxes paid. However, you’re responsible for calculating any miscellaneous expenses for business and rental income. If you need support organizing financial statements (including bank statements), additional fees will apply.
