How do I find my last year's Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) for e-filing?

In order to provide consent for e-filing your current year’s Tax Returns, you need to either:

  • Use the Self-Select Method with a PIN and your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) from your last year’s tax return; or,
  • Sign Form 8897.

The most convenient way is to use the Self-Select Pin Method. So how do you find your AGI on your previous year’s Tax Return?

Self-Select Pin Method

  • Open last year’s Form 1040.
  • Find your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) on Page 1, Line 11.
  • Enter your PIN and AGI on the E-filing Consent page.

Keep in mind, if you filed jointly with a spouse last year, you BOTH have the same AGI.
